Innovation and Creativity: The Making of Škoda Auto’s Annual Report

The Škoda Auto Annual Report for 2024 is here! For the third year in a row, the website and PDF version were developed by Green:Code, in collaboration with the creative digital agency Etnetera Motion and Etnetera Core, specialists in custom software development. And this year, the bar was set high — last year’s report won first place in the prestigious Zlatý středník competition in the Annual Report category.

The Zlatý středník Awards are a respected recognition celebrating the best communication projects and corporate media from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This success confirmed the high quality, creativity, and innovative approach of Škoda Auto and its partners in creating annual reports and other corporate materials.

Design

Creativity defines this year’s annual report. The website — where visitors can explore both financial and non-financial reports of Škoda Auto — stands out through its structure and visual design. The homepage features the Škoda Elroq, accompanied by flamingos symbolizing the car’s key attributes: elegance, grace, and a higher perspective. Their bright pink color creates a striking contrast with Škoda’s signature green.

Teams and Data

The project also excels in its high level of innovation. Development began in early November 2024 and continued until March 13, 2025. Alongside project management, front-end developers, and DevOps engineers from Green:Code, the team included additional front-end specialists from Etnetera Core and a design expert from Etnetera Motion.

As in previous years, the entire development process was carried out using fictional data for security reasons. The real data were provided shortly before the fiscal year presentation, which took place on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Thanks to a unique technological solution, the real data were seamlessly integrated into the web environment precisely at 11:15 a.m., after which the site was launched to the public.

Statistics

The impressive scale of the project is reflected in its rich content. The website includes:

  • 1,700 text blocks in two languages
  • 239 images
  • 1,963 visuals for the car rotator
  • 16 videos
  • 36 charts
  • All spread across 23 pages.

A brand-new section on IT and Digitalization was also added — notably, the first-ever public Škoda Auto webpage created in dark mode.

Architecture

The architecture of this year’s Škoda Auto Annual Report is built on cutting-edge technologies Next.JS 15 and React 19.
As a result, the website now uses Server-Side Rendering (SSR) and static export, enhancing both page load performance and SEO.

It’s also worth mentioning that the project leverages the @skodaflow/web-library, which delivers the distinctive Škoda Flow design identity, also developed by Green:Code. For animations, the Framer Motion library was used.

Like the previous reports, this year’s annual report was a challenge — one that we, together with our colleagues from Etnetera Motion and Etnetera Core, successfully met.
