Škoda Flow Web Library: A Unified Visual Identity Across Projects
Škoda Auto operates hundreds of web applications across different departments. Whether it’s manufacturing projects, internal tools, or customer-facing solutions, a consistent visual experience across these products is ensured by the Škoda Flow Web Library (FWL).
This library implements the Škoda Auto Flow visual identity through typography, color palettes, and a set of both atomic and complex components. It supports collaboration between teams, enables knowledge sharing, and reduces the need to repeatedly implement the same elements in every individual product.
Teams across Škoda Auto collaborate on the development of the library: design is handled by the VX department, governance by FIG, IT consultations are provided by FID, and the technical development is led by us at Green:Code.
The library has been in development for more than five years, and we have been involved in its technical development for the past 2.5 years. It currently includes over 130 unique components and is used by more than 150 different projects. These include the new Car Configurator (link), the web-based Laura assistant (link), the Škoda Auto Annual Report (link), and DISE displays seen in showrooms.

FWL is built on @mui/material, one of the leading UI libraries for React, with more than 7 million downloads per week. This means it is based on technology used by global companies such as Amazon, Netflix, Spotify, and NASA, helping Škoda Auto stay aligned with current frontend development trends.
The library is publicly available at: 🔗https://flow-library.skoda-auto.com/
